Donations and Sales
The library provides a great service to the public by accepting donations, incl. hardcover and softcover books, CDs, DVDs, and puzzles in good condition. (No text books and VHS tapes, please.)
Donations are sorted by volunteers. Brand-new items may be added to the library's check-out inventory. Items not suitable for check-out are sold to the public during regular library hours. The library is funded in large part through this activity.

Programs and Events
Tracyton Community Library hosts two regular programs during the year:

Summer Reading Program
This program follows the school calendar in order to provide an activity for children during the summer. It usually starts in late June and ends in late August with an ice cream party. For every 10 books read and logged in a book journal, children will earn a free book. Any book will count, even if it does not originate at the library.

The library is considering extending this program to readers of all ages. Instead of having to read a number of books, adults and teens need to log a certain number of hours. Suggestions from the public would be greatly appreciated as we want to make this program accessible to all readers.

Tracyton Tree Lighting Ceremony
This annual event is organized in collaboration with Tracyton United Methodist Church. Upholding this 70-year-old December tradition is made possible through a library committee and a small group of dedicated volunteers who check lights and strings on the 100-foot tree every year. Repairs can be costly due to weather and wind exposure.
The tree lighting started in the late 1940s, with volunteer firefighters climbing and installing the lights. A boom truck is now used to do this tricky work. The star at the top shines brightly around the Dyes Inlet during the holiday season.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Suquamish Tribe and Suquamish Foundation.
